King Jesus (Brooke Ligertwood)

King Jesus is a powerful worship song declaring Christ’s lordship, His interceding role, and His eternal victory. With themes of praise, forgiveness, and divine authority, the lyrics magnify the risen Lamb who is seated at the right hand of the Father.

VERSE 1
It is right to praise You
To bring the sacrifice You deserve
For those forgiven much
Dare not forget Your touch
Cannot withhold Your praise

For there is no other
Seated at the Father’s right hand
And Yours scarred with the proof
Of what You chose to lose
So grace was mine to gain

CHORUS
King Jesus
King Jesus
King Jesus

VERSE 2
You come with eyes ablazing
On your thigh the Name above Names
Interceding Son
Our Christ the Risen One
The slain and worthy Lamb

You ride to end the battle
That in eternity You’ve already won
We praise and pull it down
The victory, the sound
Heaven on earth the same

CHORUS
King Jesus
King Jesus
King Jesus

BRIDGE
Let it rise, praise ascend
Glory to the Lamb
Let it rise, praise again
Glory to the Lamb

REFRAIN
Holy, holy, holy is the Lord
Worthy, worthy, worthy is the Lord

TAG
King Jesus
King Jesus
Worthy are You Lord

The Power of Praise and Forgiveness

“It is right to praise You” affirms the biblical call to worship God as a rightful and fitting response to who He is. Psalm 147:1 declares, “Praise the Lord! For it is good to sing praises to our God; for it is pleasant, and a song of praise is fitting.”

“For those forgiven much dare not forget Your touch” reflects the gratitude of those who have experienced deep forgiveness. Luke 7:47 shows this truth when Jesus says, “Her many sins have been forgiven—as her great love has shown.”

“Seated at the Father’s right hand” aligns with Hebrews 1:3, which states that Jesus “sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high”, affirming His authority and finished work.

“You ride to end the battle that in eternity You’ve already won” points to Christ’s victorious return and eternal triumph. Revelation 19:11–16 describes Jesus riding on a white horse as “Faithful and True,” and 1 Corinthians 15:57 proclaims, “Thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
