Christ’s Sacrifice and Our Salvation

“I call You faithful” expresses trust in God’s unchanging nature. Scripture affirms this in Lamentations 3:22-23, where God’s mercies are declared new every morning and His faithfulness is great. Calling God “faithful” aligns with 1 Corinthians 1:9, which states, “God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with His Son.”

“You have been so good to me” reflects recognition of God’s ongoing goodness. Psalm 100:5 confirms, “The Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting.” This line echoes the biblical truth that God’s goodness is not circumstantial but constant.

“For the blood that washed me clean” points to Christ’s atoning work on the cross. 1 John 1:7 supports this, saying, “The blood of Jesus… purifies us from all sin.” It highlights the doctrine of redemption through Christ’s sacrifice.

“You paid the price I couldn’t pay” refers to substitutionary atonement. Romans 6:23 explains that the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus. This shows the theological truth that only Christ could pay the debt of sin.
