Fresh Fire (The Belonging Co)

Fresh Fire is a passionate cry for surrender, Holy Spirit renewal, and fresh oil from Heaven. It emphasizes ongoing intimacy with God through personal revival, daily dependence, and Spirit-led worship.

VERSE 1
Search me, know me
Know my every thought I surrender now
On the altar, lay it all down
God I’m ready now, Oh I’m ready now

CHORUS
Fresh fire, fresh fire, fire from the Heavens
Open the Heavens right now
Fresh oil, fresh oil, oil of Your presence
Pour out Your presence right now

VERSE 2
Lead me, guide me
Let each step I take, fall on paths of grace
Where Your word is there my heart is
Come consume me now, come consume me now

BRIDGE
I’m not satisfied with yesterday’s oil yesterday’s fire
Here’s my heart, pour it out again
I’m not satisfied with yesterday’s oil yesterday’s fire
Here’s my heart, pour it out again

Surrendered Worship and Devotion

“Search me, know me” reflects a desire for deep personal examination by God, echoing Psalm 139:23–24, where David prays, “Search me, God, and know my heart…”. It shows a heart willing to be exposed and changed by God’s truth.

“On the altar, lay it all down” speaks of surrender, aligning with Romans 12:1, which calls believers to present their bodies as living sacrifices—an act of spiritual worship.

“Fresh fire, fresh fire, fire from the Heavens” represents a plea for renewed passion and power from the Holy Spirit. In Acts 2:3–4, fire symbolizes the Spirit’s arrival, signifying purification, empowerment, and divine presence.

“I’m not satisfied with yesterday’s oil, yesterday’s fire” shows hunger for ongoing renewal, rather than relying on past experiences. Lamentations 3:22–23 affirms that God’s mercies are new every morning, encouraging continual dependence on Him.
