I wrote this song with Brian Johnson and a couple of other people. Brian and I actually started this song. We just had the melodies, but we talked about a theme. The thing we kept saying was forever, just talking about how forever Jesus will be lifted high, worshiped and glorified. We wanted to paint a picture of his story of coming to earth to die for our sins and I think it does that, paints a picture of the crucifixion. ~ Kari Jobe
VERSE 1
The moon and stars they wept
 The morning sun was dead
The Savior of the world was fallen
 His body on the cross
His blood poured out for us
The weight of every curse upon Him
VERSE 2
 One final breath He gave
 As heaven looked away
The Son of God was laid in darkness
 A battle in the grave
The war on death was waged
The power of hell forever broken
 PRE-CHORUS
 The ground began to shake
 The stone was rolled away
His perfect love could not be overcome
Now death where is your sting
 Our resurrected King
 Has rendered you defeated
 CHORUS
 Forever, He is glorified
 Forever, He is lifted high
 Forever, He is risen
He is alive, He is alive!
PRE-CHORUS
 The ground began to shake
 The stone was rolled away
His perfect love could not be overcome
Now death where is your sting
 Our resurrected King
 Has rendered you defeated
CHORUS
 Forever, He is glorified
 Forever, He is lifted high
 Forever, He is risen
He is alive, He is alive!
 Forever, He is glorified
 Forever, He is lifted high
 Forever, He is risen
He is alive, He is alive
POST-CHORUS
 You have overcome
 You are resurrected King
 You have overcome the grave
 You have overcome
BRIDGE
 We sing Hallelujah
 We sing Hallelujah
 We sing Hallelujah
 The Lamb has overcome
 We sing Hallelujah
 We sing Hallelujah
 We sing Hallelujah
 The Lamb has overcome
And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying, “To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!” Revelation 5:13
And the four living creatures, each of them with six wings, are full of eyes all around and within, and day and night they never cease to say, “Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!” And whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to him who is seated on the throne, who lives forever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before him who is seated on the throne and worship him who lives forever and ever. They cast their crowns before the throne, saying, “Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.” Revelation 4:8-11
