The Power of the Cross
“All my boast is in Jesus” declares a complete reliance on Christ’s finished work. The phrase “What wonder of wonders, what love is this that Christ would die for me” echoes Romans 5:8, where God demonstrates His love by Christ’s death while we were yet sinners. “His goodness, His merit, His righteousness” reflects Philippians 3:9, affirming righteousness comes through faith in Christ, not by our own effort.
