No Body (Elevation Worship)

No Body is a powerful declaration of Jesus’ victory over death, portraying Him as the Lamb who was slain, the risen King, and the one who defeated darkness forever. The song exalts Christ’s resurrection, the forgiveness found at Calvary, and the living hope in the empty grave. With themes of sacrifice, resurrection, and triumph, the lyrics echo biblical truths with clarity and conviction.

VERSE 1
Behold the Lamb
Upon the cross
Who takes away the sins of all
Forgiveness flows
From hands and feet
As violence meets the Prince of Peace
Behold the King

CHORUS
Light of the world
Lamb that was slain
Lion who rose
Mighty to save
The fullness of God
Won’t be kept in a grave
Darkness your hour is over

VERSE 2
Behold the love
His dying plea
Behold the grace of Calvary
That rugged cross
Soon to be
The emblem of a risen King
Behold the King

BRIDGE
No enemy can hold you down
Cause there’s no body in the grave now
One head gets to wear that crown
Cause there’s no body in the grave now

Forgiveness Through His Wounds

“Behold the Lamb upon the cross” affirms Jesus as the sacrificial Lamb of God, referencing John 1:29, where John the Baptist declares, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” This phrase points directly to Christ’s atoning sacrifice.

“Forgiveness flows from hands and feet” recalls how Jesus’ crucifixion provided forgiveness through His shed blood, fulfilling Isaiah 53:5, which says, “He was pierced for our transgressions… and by his wounds we are healed.” The suffering of Jesus brought reconciliation between God and humanity.

“Light of the world, Lamb that was slain” emphasizes Jesus as both divine and redemptive. John 8:12 declares Him the Light of the World, while Revelation 5:12 proclaims Him worthy as “the Lamb who was slain.” These titles affirm His dual role as Savior and God.

“There’s no body in the grave now” proclaims the resurrection. Luke 24:6 states, “He isn’t here, but is risen.” This reinforces the truth of Christ’s victory over death and confirms His identity as the risen King.
