Ika’y Karapat-dapat is a worship song declaring wholehearted surrender, faithful devotion, and God’s worthiness of praise. With phrases like “Itataas kita sa aking pagsamba” and “Ika’y tapat at walang katulad,” the song exalts the Lord as the only one deserving of worship.
VERSE
Aking Panginoon, ako ay narito
Mainam na handog, sa ‘Yo ay alay ko
Sinasamba kita, dinadakila Ka
‘Pagkat Ika’y tapat at walang katulad
CHORUS
Itataas kita sa aking pagsamba
Dadakilain ang pangalan Mo sa tuwina
Sa bawat sandali, papupurihan Ka
‘Pagkat Ika’y karapat-dapat
Sa aking pagsamba

God’s Worthiness
“Aking Panginoon, ako ay narito” expresses a posture of availability and surrender before the Lord. This aligns with Romans 12:1, which calls believers to offer themselves as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God.
“Mainam na handog, sa ’Yo ay alay ko” conveys the act of offering something pleasing to God. Hebrews 13:15–16 affirms this by encouraging believers to offer a sacrifice of praise and good deeds that please the Lord.
“Sinasamba Kita, dinadakila Ka” reflects a lifestyle of worship and exalting God. Psalm 29:2 supports this by calling us to give the Lord the glory due His name and to worship Him in holiness.
“’Pagkat Ika’y tapat at walang katulad” recognizes God’s faithfulness and uniqueness. Lamentations 3:22–23 reminds us that His mercies are new every morning and that great is His faithfulness.
“Itataas Kita sa aking pagsamba” and “Ika’y karapat-dapat” declare God’s worthiness to be exalted in worship. Revelation 4:11 affirms this, stating that God is worthy to receive glory and honor because He created all things.
