Good News is a gospel-centered worship song declaring Jesus’ love, the power of the empty grave, and life-changing hope. It reminds listeners that no matter their history or unbelief, the love of Jesus is constant and redemptive.
VERSE 1
There’s a lot of talk goin’ ‘round town
I hear a lot of people running their mouths
Every word like an anchor just bringing them
Down, down, down
We’ve all been looking for a silver lining
Something to hold on to when hopes been hiding
I know a place where you can go
If you wanna find it
CHORUS
This is the good news
If you’re breathing, it’s for you
An empty grave
To a life that’s changed
It all points to Jesus Name
If you’ve been searching
And nothings been working
I’ve got good news Jesus Loves You
VERSE 2
Open up your eyes and look around you
This is a place where your freedom is found
Take a minute, Breathe it in
Watch your life turn upside down
CHORUS
This is the good news
If you’re breathing, it’s for you An empty grave
To a life that’s changed
It all points to Jesus Name
If you’ve been searching And nothings been working
I’ve got good news Jesus Loves You
BRIDGE
No matter what you bring
Oh He’s in love with you
No matter your history
Oh He’s in love with
No matter your unbelief
Oh He’s in love with
From now ‘til eternity
He’ll still be in love with you
REFRAIN
He’s still in love with you
He’s still in love with you

The Power of the Gospel
“This is the good news” presents the song’s central message, which echoes the biblical gospel—the good news that Jesus Christ died and rose again to offer salvation (1 Corinthians 15:1–4). The phrase points to the core of Christian faith: hope, redemption, and new life in Christ. This is supported by Romans 1:16, which declares, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes.”
“An empty grave to a life that’s changed” reflects the resurrection of Jesus and its transformative power. The empty tomb symbolizes victory over sin and death (Luke 24:6–7), and a changed life is promised to those who trust in Him (2 Corinthians 5:17).
“Jesus loves you” anchors the entire song in God’s personal love for each individual. This is clearly affirmed in John 3:16 and Romans 5:8, which show that Christ’s sacrifice was motivated by love even while we were still sinners.
“No matter your unbelief… He’s in love with you” points to God’s persistent love, aligning with Romans 5:6 and 2 Timothy 2:13. However, Scripture also calls for a response of faith (John 3:18), so while God’s love is constant, salvation is received through belief.
