Christ is the Center (The Belonging Co)

Christ is the Center is a worship anthem focused on repentance, devotion, and Christ’s centrality in our lives. With lyrics proclaiming Christ as our portion and healer, the song calls believers to surrender and holiness.

VERSE 1
We’re returning to repentance
We come humbly to Your presence
Lord Jesus, all that matters now is You.
Oh we lay down our agendas
All our burdens and offenses
Lord Jesus, all that matters now is You.

PRE CHORUS
Oh, all that matters now is You.

CHORUS
Christ is our portion, Christ our devotion
Christ is the center of our lives
He is our obsession, He is our confession
Christ is the center of our lives

VERSE 2
In the morning, in the evening
You’re the one thing we are seeking
We come boldly, we are open to You now
You are healing all division
You are mending all that’s broken
Make us holy, make us holy like You are

BRIDGE
As for me and this house
We will serve You, glorify You
Let it be in this house
That we love You and obey You
You are Lord of this house
You’re the first and You’re the only
In the midst of us now You are Holy, You are worthy

Christ as Our Source and Satisfaction

“We’re returning to repentance” expresses a heart turning back to God in humility and surrender. This reflects Acts 3:19, “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out.” Repentance is foundational in Christian life, marking a turning away from sin and toward Christ.

“Christ is our portion” reveals deep spiritual satisfaction found in Jesus alone. Lamentations 3:24 says, “The Lord is my portion,” affirming that Jesus is enough for every need and desire.

“Christ is the center of our lives” conveys the core theme: Christ’s lordship over all. Colossians 1:17-18 declares, “He is before all things…so that in everything He might have the supremacy,” confirming Jesus as the rightful center of all life.

“You are healing all division” reflects Christ’s role as reconciler. Ephesians 2:14 says, “He himself is our peace…has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility,” showing that unity comes through Him.

“Make us holy like You are” echoes 1 Peter 1:16, “Be holy, because I am holy.” The desire for holiness aligns with God’s command to reflect His character.
