Be Still is a worship song that centers on waiting for God, being renewed by the Holy Spirit, and remembering His faithfulness. With phrases like “I will wait for You” and “Be still and know,” the song calls believers to rest in God’s presence with trust and peace.
VERSE 1
Remind me Lord, lest I forget
Who You are and Who You have been
A mighty God, perfect in peace
My Champion, all that I need
CHORUS 1
I will wait for You
I will wait for You
Holy Spirit, come renew
All of my strength
CHORUS 2
Holy Spirit, come renew
All of my strength
VERSE 2
Who can hold the wind in His hands
The shorelines drawn to where He has planned
Jesus Christ, the Name above all
Will hear my cry whenever I call
BRIDGE 1
I will choose life even in darkness
Your truth lights a beautiful spark
In this heart and soul
Be still and know
BRIDGE 2
That my fear’s gone here in Your presence
A new song rises to Heaven
This heart and soul

Trusting in God’s Faithfulness
Remind me Lord, lest I forget who You are and who You have been” reflects a call for spiritual remembrance. Scripture frequently exhorts believers not to forget God’s faithfulness, as in Deuteronomy 6:12, which says, “Be careful that you do not forget the Lord, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.” Remembering God’s character and past faithfulness strengthens trust in the present.
“I will wait for You” expresses dependence and patience in God’s timing. This aligns with Psalm 27:14: “Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.” Waiting on God is an act of trust rooted in His sovereignty.
“Holy Spirit, come renew all of my strength” echoes Isaiah 40:31: “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength.” It reflects reliance on the Spirit’s sustaining power, in line with Titus 3:5, where renewal comes by the Holy Spirit.
“Be still and know” directly quotes Psalm 46:10, calling for trust in God’s control, especially amid uncertainty.
